The Level 2 course has been designed to help anyone who handles, prepares or serves food in the catering industry understand their legal responsibilities and know what constitutes best practice in regards to controlling food safety hazards, controlling temperatures, food storage, food preparation, personal hygiene and premises cleaning.

By law, all food handlers must have an understanding of the basic principles of food hygiene and know how to work safely so as to protect the food they serve from contamination.

The course provides learners with up-to-date food hygiene information using a range of written text, interactive exercises and video content to ensure learners thoroughly comprehend their food safety responsibilities.

This Food Allergen Training programme has been written for people who work with food; whether it’s food productionprocessingpackagingdistributionfood retail or catering.

Anyone who works with food needs to know about allergens and allergen labelling. They particularly need to be aware of the changes to the rules which were introduced in December 2014. In the UK it’s estimated that 2 million people have an allergy to foods, and over the last 15 years hospital admissions for food allergies have increased by 500%.

As there is no cure for food allergies, they must be managed and the only way to do this is to avoid the foods which cause the allergy. It is therefore important that people with food allergies can easily find out which products contain the ingredients they are allergic to. In order to comply with the new EU FIC Regulations, everyone working in the food industry is required to understand how to make this information readily available to consumers should they need to know.

SFBB/ HACCP  Workshop

The Food Standards Agency has developed a pack called ‘Safer Food, Better Business’ (SFBB) to help you comply with the law, which can be downloaded for free from Food Standards Agency website.

The pack will save you having to produce your own system, is jargon free and easy to use. It covers cooking, cleaning, chilling, cross contamination and management procedures.

We are running monthly workshops that provide advice and guidance on how to correctly complete the SFBB pack. 

By the end of the event, participants will be able to understand:

What SFBB is, and how it applies to their business
Why and how SFBB was developed
What the law requires
What each section of the pack includes
How to use SFBB
The benefits of using SFBB
That SFBB can be integrated with existing systems
The role their LA will play in assisting them
The pack and start completing safe methods
The diary and how it forms their records
